What is Body Talk?

BodyTalk is a system that bridges the gap between health, education and the science of awareness. The BodyTalk system acknowledges your body’s natural ability to heal, promoting a healthy state of being with all parts and systems of the body communicating.

How does BodyTalk work?

BodyTalk sessions are safe, easy, comfortable and conducted while clients fully clothed. Each session usually lasts up to 45 minutes, during which certified BodyTalk practitioners follow a simple and gentle, four-step approach designed to re-establish communication within the body for the fastest healing process to occur.

I was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand in 2003 after a career in the South African Foreign Service and completing assignments in London and Beijing. Living in Beijing, I was introduced to Kinesiology. This experience made me look around for similar modalities and I discovered BodyTalk in 2008 after picking up an advertisement for the BodyTalk Fundamentals course in Tauranga, New Zealand. I was very impressed with how BodyTalk succeeds in addressing the whole person – body, mind and spirit – in pursuit of total well-being.

Armed with this modality, I started offering sessions to my friends and family and was very encouraged by how helpful BodyTalk was in addressing for example insomnia and migraines. BodyTalk is also very effective in dealing with digestive issues, difficult menstrual cycles, allergies, sinusitis and depression, to name but a few.

I moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2010 while working for the New Zealand Ministry of Education and continued to practice BodyTalk part time. In 2014, while going through a particularly stressful time in my career, I used BodyTalk to help me deal better with changes in my work life and also improve my overall health.

In late 2014 I finally decided to pursue BodyTalk full time, encouraged by the many people I have helped to improve their health. I am now a Certified Bodytalk Practitioner (CBP) and a BodyTalk Access Technician.

I was first introduced to BodyTalk in 2009 in New Zealand while on a quest to resolve long-standing issues with leg and back pain. That experience quickly sparked my fascination with the BodyTalk System as a non-invasive holistic approach to wellness.

The way BodyTalk takes psychology to a whole new level with the Dynamic Systems Theory, where everything is connected also appealed to my interest in understanding why we do what we do.

Then in October 2016, after an 18-year career as a pilot, I qualified as a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner. I am currently based in Kuala Lumpur, and am very excited to be working with both people and animals as part of growing the BodyTalk System in Malaysia.
